Art lovers are spoilt for choice with a multitude of artists having made the town their home, and which not only exhibit and sell their art, but also offer workshops and classes.

Anneke Smuts
I am inspired by people, music and nature, these aspects all give me the ingenuity to be creative in oil, pastel, and pen and ink. I have been a student at the Arteographic Artschool for 12 years. I love the challenge it brings to follow specific instructions according to a client’s guidance. It gives me great pleasure to see how much joy my work gives others.

Joey’s Artwork
As a born and bred Bolander and former inhabitant of Redelinghuys I grew up appreciating and loving nature in all its facets. Thereafter I spent time in Namibia and all the “earthy” influences have helped develop a keen sense of flowers, Afrikaner, indigenous portraits, and figure painting. Being an inquisitive person I’m always looking for the detail to best express deep and rich coloration in my art.
Having attended various art workshops I’m not averse to dabbling in various mediums.
In receiving commissions from friends and clients, I try my best to timeously, and with as much creativity as possible reflect my unique brand of art on each and every piece I deliver.
Having been a forensic investigator i analyze and determine beforehand the best possible way of enriching each and every canvas I produce.

The Mosaic House
The Mosaic House in Porterville has established itself as one of the most popular things to do in Porterville for tourists. People drive from all over to visit the Mosaic House and to meet Christel, the artist. Did you know Christel does not only do mosaic, she paints also under the name Manzi. Paul Kristafor
My sculptural wooden vessels and bowls are created using a traditional lathe and gouges combined with contemporary carving techniques. I work almost exclusively with green wood, allowing the drying process to give the bowl or vessel its final form. The organic nature of this process sometimes results in shapes and surface textures impossible to create with tools alone. Surface embellishments such as the Japanese scorching technique Yakisugi add to the texture of the vessels. All the timber used to make my vessels are sustainably sourced, often as part of an alien eradication program.

Ronel Bakker
“My work has a strong individual touch.  Carefully handmade, mostly once-off pieces with attention to detail.

With very little interference, I merely act as a guide, allowing my medium to take the shape it was meant to be.  Whether it is a bowl, a jug or a platter, I am honoured to be a part of the new life forming under my hands.” – Ronel Bakker Ceramics
